How often should I maintain my fitness equipment?

For our residential customers Tower Fitness recommends getting preventative maintenance every 6 months depending on normal use. If the fitness equipment gets used more regularly you may want to have it serviced every 4 months. For a commercial facility Tower Fitness recommends getting preventative maintenance every 3 months for a larger facility. If the fitness equipment at the commercial facility does not get used frequently the maintenance can be done very 4-5 months. Please call us for more information. Tower Fitness recommends gathering the serial number and model number before calling to book an appointment.

 

How should I maintain my fitness equipment?

Always unplug the cardio unit from its power source before cleaning or performing any maintenance tasks.

Inspect the fitness equipment before each use to determine if there has been any damage to it since the last use. Look and listen for loose fasteners, unusual noises, worn or frayed power cords, and any other indications that the fitness equipment might be in need of service. If you notice any of these, please contact Tower Fitness with the serial number, model number and a brief description of the problem.

What lubricant is safe to use on my treadmill?

Tower Fitness currently sells Slick Sticks that are perfect for lubricating your treadmill for optimal usage.

 

My fitness equipment will not turn on, what should I do?

1. Check to make sure the machine is plugged in

2.Check to make sure the power switch on the machine is turned on

3. Check to make sure the safety key is placed in the correct spot

How should I clean my fitness equipment?

Fitness equipment should be cleaned before and after each workout. Use mild soap and water to dampen a soft cloth and wipe all exposed surfaces. This helps remove any dust or dirt. Do not use any acidic cleaners. Doing so could prematurely weaken the plastic parts and may void the equipment warranty. Never pour water or spray liquids on any part of the fitness equipment. Allow the treadmill or other piece of fitness equipment to dry completely before using. Frequently vacuum the floor underneath the unit to prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt, which can affect the smooth operation of the unit.

 

My fitness equipment is 10 years old or more. Is it worth fixing?

If an old treadmill, elliptical or stationary bike has been working well for 10 years then suddenly stops it could be something minor like a fuse or a connection. The general rule is if a part costs more then the fitness equipment can currently be sold for, then it may not be worth repairing but this is not always the case.

 

Will Tower Fitness come to my fitness facility or home to service my fitness equipment?
